Literature Text

tea is a place beyond
words, calm jade inviting
a bower dark secluded
moss-silent falls as
twilight on a stone

secret green tones
sing leaf on leaf
unfurling weightless dancers
of a porcelain stage

how can a leaf reborn
agonize when it exhales
a thing of solace?
tea.

Written this year, in April. I think.

I wrote it trying to improve. This is more like the poetry you read these days in magazines, or that was the intent. Less like the poetry I usually write. No contrived Lovecraftian purple rhymes in this one, for once. You see, that's what I usually write.

I really enjoy this poem. It makes me wish I liked more kinds of tea aside from chai stuff! Heh. I especially like the contrast of moss and stone and leaf against the porcelain.
